The apostille replaces the long chain of consular legalisation between member countries of the Hague Apostille Convention. It is issued by the competent authority of the country that issued the document — for example a German birth certificate is apostilled in Germany, a US diploma by the Secretary of State of the issuing state.
Apostille and Palestinian documents
The State of Palestine is not currently listed as a party to the Hague Apostille Convention. In practice this means two things for our clients:
- Documents issued in Palestine cannot receive an apostille. When they are needed abroad — even in an apostille country such as Germany or Canada — they normally go through authentication at the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, followed by legalisation by the embassy, consulate or representative office of the destination country.
- Documents issued in an apostille country and needed in Palestine are usually legalised through the Palestinian embassy in that country, because an apostille alone is not always accepted. We confirm the current requirement with the receiving authority before you start.
Apostilles we arrange
- Apostilles on documents issued abroad for Palestinians living in Palestine — birth and marriage certificates, diplomas, police certificates
- Apostille on company documents from EU, UK, US, Turkish and Gulf Hague member states
- Apostille plus certified translation in one order
- Retrieval of a new certified copy when the original is lost or too old to be accepted
Requirements change. Saudi Arabia joined the Convention in 2022, Canada in 2024 and Algeria's membership took effect in 2026. We check the current status of both countries for every order.

Frequently asked questions
Can a Palestinian document get an apostille?
No. Palestine is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so Palestinian documents are authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and then legalised by the embassy or representative office of the destination country. We handle the full process.
I live in Palestine but my document was issued in Germany. Can you help?
Yes. We work with partners in the issuing country to obtain the apostille or legalisation there, and arrange the certified Arabic translation if you need it locally.
How long does an apostille take?
It depends entirely on the issuing country and authority — from a few days to several weeks. We give you a realistic estimate with the quote.
